It is claimed that people want to get their needings done rapidly in several fields such as services, information and tasks. In my opinion, it is generally a positive development. Increased civic participation, information technology and hedonistic culture may account for the needings for rapid services.
Democracy has rapidly risen since the beginning of the Renaissance. Since that time, individuals have started to feel that they have the power to change the system or the management. More specifically, the understanding of individuals must serve for the king has changed. I think this change is beneficial for society in terms of getting better services. Besides that, this developments increased the productivity.
Information technology has affected people’s expectations. With the advent of an internet technology, search engines undoubtedly have become more popular than libraries due to the rapid service which was given by Google. Also, these online systems allowed us to manage our meetings. Therefore, hospitals and other similar institutions benefited too.
Hedonistic culture is one of the factors which lead people to request rapid services. Humans are getting more selfish because of hedonism. They incline to put themselves in the center of the life.
On the other hand, getting services faster than before does not make people happy. In fact, it may cause people addicted to these tools which offer fast services. For example, They may become addicted to phone or computer games.
In conclusion, there is no doubt that instant services offer various benefits in varied fields while it is questionable whether it makes society happier than before.
