Musa Peygamberin Kıssası, Sargon'un Doğum Efsanesi'nden Çalıntı mı?

Bu yazıda, Musa peygamberin kıssasıyla ilgili olarak din düşmanı çevrelerce zaman zaman gündeme getirilen bir iddia ele alınacaktır.

Bu iddiaya göre, Musa peygamberin kıssası ve "Sargon'un Doğum Efsanesi (Birth Legend of Sargon)" arasında önemli benzerlikler vardır ve Sargon'un, Musa peygamberin yaşadığı iddia edilen dönemden çok daha önceki bir dönemde yaşamış olması, kutsal kitaplardaki anlatımların söz konusu efsaneden "çalındığını” göstermektedir.

Öncelikle, bir kavram karmaşasına mani olmak için şunu ifade edelim: Burada mevzubahis olan Sargon, Akad kralı Sargon'dur ve ondan çok daha sonra yaşamış olan Sargon ismindeki iki Asur kralı ile karıştırılmamalıdır.

Buna göre, Sargon'un Musa peygamberden önce yaşamış olması kuvvetle muhtemeldir!

Sargon’un doğumunu anlatan metin kısaca şu şekildedir (2):

“Sargon, the mighty king, king of Agade, am I… My mother, the high-priestess, conceived me, in secret she bore me. She set me in a basket of rushes, with bitumen she sealed my lid. She cast me into the river which rose not (over) me. The river bore me up and carried me to Akki…”

Çevirisi: “Sargon, güçlü kral, Agade’nin kralı, benim! Annem (yüksek-rahibedir) bana gebe kaldı, gizlice beni doğurdu. Beni kamıştan bir sepetin içine koydu. Ziftle kapağımı kapladı. Üzerime yükselmeyen nehire beni attı. Nehir bana yardım etti ve beni Akki’ye taşıdı.”

Buna göre, Musa peygamberin kıssası ile Sargon’un Doğum Efsanesi’nin önemli benzerlikler taşıdığı görülmektedir!

Şimdi gelelim, başlangıçta bahsettiğimiz iddianın çöküşüne sebep olacak gerçeklere!..

Evet, Sargon belki Musa peygamberden önce yaşamış olabilir; ancak onun doğumunu anlatan yukarıdaki efsane, Musa peygamberden çok daha sonra, Neo-Asur ve Neo-Babil dönemlerinde (M.Ö. 709-539) yazılmıştır (3).

Buna göre, Sargon'un doğumunu ve nehre bırakılmasını anlatan efsane, onun ölümünden yaklaşık 1500 yıl sonra yazılmıştır!

SONUÇ: Sonuç olarak, Sargon, Musa peygamberden daha önce yaşamış olsa bile, onun doğumunun ardından nehre bırakılmasını anlatan efsanenin, Musa peygamberden çok daha sonraki bir döneme ait olduğu görülmektedir ve bu durum, "kutsal kitaplardaki anlatımların bahsi geçen efsaneden çalındığı" şeklindeki meşhur iddiayı geçersiz kılmaktadır!

Is the Story of Moses a Plagiarism of the Birth Legend of Sargon?

This article will address a claim, sometimes raised by anti-religious circles, regarding the story of Moses.

According to this claim, there are significant similarities between the story of Moses and the "Birth Legend of Sargon," and the fact that Sargon lived much earlier than the period in which Moses is claimed to have lived demonstrates that the narratives in the holy books were "stolen" from this legend.

First, to avoid any conceptual confusion, let us state that the Sargon in question here is the Akkadian king Sargon, and should not be confused with the two Assyrian kings named Sargon who lived much later.

The Akkadian kings and the dates of their reigns are as follows (1):

Sargon: 2334-2279 BC
Rimush: 2334-2279 BC 2278-2270 BC
Manishtushu: 2269-2255 BC
Naram-Sin: 2254-2218 BC
Sharkalisharri: 2217-2193 BC

Therefore, it is highly probable that Sargon lived before the prophet Moses!

The text describing Sargon's birth is briefly as follows (2):

“Sargon, the mighty king, king of Agade, am I… My mother, the high-priestess, conceived me, in secret she bore me. She set me in a basket of rushes, with bitumen she sealed my lid. She cast me into the river which rose not over me. The river bore me up and carried me to Akki…”

Translation: “Sargon, the mighty king, king of Agade, I am! My mother (the high-priestess) conceived me, secretly bore me. She placed me in a basket of rushes. She sealed my lid with bitumen. She cast me into the river which did not rise over me. The river helped me and carried me to Akki.”

Accordingly, it is seen that the story of the prophet Moses and the Legend of Sargon's Birth bear significant similarities!

Now let's come to the facts that will cause the collapse of the claim we mentioned at the beginning!...

Yes, Sargon may have lived before the prophet Moses; However, the legend above describing his birth was written much later than the Prophet Moses, during the Neo-Assyrian and Neo-Babylonian periods (709-539 BC) (3).

Accordingly, the legend describing Sargon's birth and his being cast into the river was written approximately 1500 years after his death!

CONCLUSION: In conclusion, even if Sargon lived before the Prophet Moses, the legend describing his birth and being cast into the river appears to belong to a period much later than the Prophet Moses, and this invalidates the famous claim that "the narratives in the holy books were stolen from the aforementioned legend"!
